An Hour of Prayer

December 16th, 2015

Take a short break from studying tonight to be with Jesus for an hour! You know you need to pray about those finals! 😉 Father Sparling will expose the Eucharist, give a short talk, and there will be music. It’s just an hour long tonight, and the bonus? You’ll get to sing a 751 year old song (written by Thomas Aquinas) TO Jesus in PERSON. Being Catholic is so awesome!

Time: 7:30 til 8:30
Place: St. Teresa Catholic Church

Godteens! You are invited over to the Potter home on Wednesday from 7:30 p.m. til 9:00 p.m. We will have hot dogs, chips, and snacks to eat, pumpkins for carving, and a fire with the makings for S’Mores. Dress for cooler weather, even though it will be warm during the day.

It is Parents’ Night for those who are in the play at Pius. I realize that many of you will be unable to attend. Would you leave a comment either way so that I have an idea of how many teens to expect?

Updated September Events

September 16th, 2015

Copied & Pasted from an e-mail that you should receive via your individual leaders:

Hello, Leaders, Students, and Parents
In light of the loss of Pius X junior Justice Coleman, that her rosary is Wednesday evening, and that many students are experiencing grief, we will not get together this Wednesday for the annual Ice Cream Party.

Here’s how registration will work: I attached a Word Document to this e-mail that is the registration form.  I would like for students/parents to print it out and bring it to the first meeting with their leaders, which is September 23rd.  Please remember to bring $30 per student (but no more than $60 per family) along with this registration.  This money is important, as we use it for materials, food, events, etc., and do not take any money from the parish’s budget.  Registration will continue into early October.  *I will provide forms to each set of leaders, in case someone is unable to print one.

I have created a sign-up for face-painting at the parish picnic.  We NEED students to volunteer in half-hour time slots for two hours.  This is very important!  The sign-up is HERE.

Please remember that you can check this Godteens website for calendar and announcements: [you’re already here]

And that we have a private Facebook Page for parents and students HERE.

FRESHMEN
Freshmen Godteens will meet with Fr. Sparling and Fr. Kishore in the Marian Room on September 23rd at 7:00 p.m.  I will come to the beginning of the meeting to collect registrations and answer questions.  There will be snacks.  On September 30th, you will meet with JD and Kate!  Note: They would like to meet from 7:00 p.m. til 8:30 on Wednesdays.  They plan to have ice cream snacks for you that night.  Their information was included in the letter you received.  If you have lost it and need the information, please contact me.

ALL STUDENTS:
If anyone has questions, ideas, or concerns, please contact me [removed b/c the website is public – see front of bulletin for contact info]

God bless you!
Aubrey

September Schedule

August 28th, 2015

Thank you for your patience, waiting for this information!

Sept 2 – Leaders Meeting: Your leaders and Fr. Sparling and Aubrey meet to finalize the calendar and discuss activities.  Are there any students who would be willing to play with our kids while we meet?  We’re meeting from 6:30 til about 8:00 at the Potter home.

Sept 9 – 7 p.m. Marian Mass Update: it will be held at St. Teresa Church, not at Waverly as originally planned.  We won’t need to help with chairs, but we’d love to see you there!

Sept 16 – Ice Cream Party & Registration: I will provide ice cream and toppings. We will meet on the south side of the school, outdoors, from 7 til 8:30 p.m.  I will have forms for registration and will take checks/money for registration at that time (and throughout September and October).  Bring footballs, frisbees, basketballs, and whatever you’d like to play with on the playground.

Sept 23 – First Home Meeting at your Leaders’ Homes!

Sunday Sept 27 – Parish Picnic (St. Therese’s Feast Day): from 5-7 p.m., the Godteens should take turns painting kids’ faces.  Details to come.
