Junior Question Challenge

October 16th, 2008

Hello, juniors and junior leaders…I challenge you to post a question either for the group to answer or for Father to answer. Maybe there’s something about The Faith that you are dying to have answered, maybe something that seems complicated that you’d like to understand better. Maybe there’s an interesting fact that you’d like to share with the group in the form of a question? Have fun!

Hayrack Ride & Bonfire

October 16th, 2008

Everyone is snugly boarded for the Hayrack Ride, during which they said a rosary.

One young man kept putting his marshmallows in front of the camera when I was trying to snap pictures…you know who you are! 😉

You can’t put warm your feet over the fire without risking the soles of your shoes, so…

A good solution is to take off your shoes, brace yourselves on eachother, and warm your feet one at a time this way!

Father shares his hat.

The moon rose behind the trees.

Our fire looked like this for awhile…

…but when it looks like this, it’s probably time to close up shop and head home.

Thanks for the great turnout everyone! We enjoy spending time with you and are glad that you could be there!

Church Picnic

October 6th, 2008

Well done! Thanks so much to all of you who came to help paint faces at the church picnic. The children had so much fun. You guys were so busy, especially in the middle of the evening! There were many people who stayed late or who came back later to help. We appreciated this a lot! God bless you! Oh–and those of you who were singing and/or playing guitar, you were AWESOME!

Titular Feast Day Plans

September 25th, 2008

According to Theresa K:

We will be having a Mass on Wednesday, Oct. 1st at 6:30 p.m. All servers are welcome to come and vest. Please have them arrive by 6:15 p.m. Any girl (junior high or older) who wants to be a part of the Honor Guard needs to call me (486-3746). I haven’t had any calls and would like to have at least four. We will meet in the Rectory basement no later than 6:15 to put on the gowns and get quick instructions. Also, if any of the Youth JAM students have younger sisters who would like to dress as St. Teresa, they may do so and meet in KH by 6:15 so we can organize the girls. It would be helpful if their parents gave me a call so I know how many pews to reserve.

Finally, we will be having a little reception in KH following the Mass. We will be serving cookies, punch and coffee. Encourage the students to come down to help celebrate our Feast Day.

On another note, Tuesday, September 30th at 7:00 p.m. are our usual St. Teresa Devotions. Since this is the day St. Teresa died, Monsignor will read the last words of St. Teresa and then give a short reflection on these words. The Devotions will end at the usual time with Benediction at 7:25. If anyone is able to stay longer, Monsignor is planning on giving a spiritual reflection on the life and spirituality of St. Teresa following Devotions. The Eucharist will remain exposed with another Benediction and Reposition at 8:45 p.m. All are encouraged to come and spend a little time adoring our Eucharistic Lord.
